Read MoreDawn, Mont Saint Michel, Normandy France 9/2019
My oldest son and I visited France to celebrate his graduation from high school prior to heading off to university. After visiting Paris for a week, we headed out to the Atlantic coast where we visited Mont Saint Michel. We were staying at a B&B nearby and had walked from there to the Abbey the previous afternoon through this field to the access road. It was misty and raining that day so I decided to return the following morning when the light might be better. This was take during the lavender hour just before sunrise. Ground fog surrounded the Abbey making it look suspended in the photo. The Abbey sits at the mouth of a river in an estuary. The fields flood at high tides and the serpentine depression is the channel from which the water recedes. It provided a nice leading line to the Abbey in this composition.
